Hypnotherapy Supervision Groups now have availabilities

On the second Wednesday of every month, I run an Intermediate-Advanced Group from 11am to 1pm
and also on the second Wednesday of every month I run a Novice Group from 7pm – 9pm

In addition to that I also have a new Novice Group beginning on the first Friday of each month (altered on occasions where a long weekend affects the group members) running from 7pm – 9pm.

All groups are small, they run for 2 hours each and the cost is $70 including GST per person per session.

Most professional bodies require that therapists engage in a minimum amount of supervision each year in order to maintain membership to their association. This ensures the clients are receiving the best possible therapist to address their needs and ensures that the therapist has up to date information, therapeutically and is current with all relevant Legislations. 

Cas is very passionate about supervision and often exceeds her personal basic annual requirements as she recognises the benefits, regardless of the level of therapist that you are.

Cas has a Vocational Graduate Diploma in Supervision and is available for Individual, Group and Peer Supervision for both Counsellors and Hypnotherapists for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced therapists.  Most associations here in Australia, require a minimum of 12 hours one on one supervision annually or 24 hours of group supervision or a combination of both.

Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Counselling Group Supervision sessions are run at various times throughout the week, for details call Cas on 03 9327 2293 to discuss a time and level that is suitable to your needs and qualifications.

Hypnotherapy Group Supervision sessions are also run on the second Wednesday of every month, with the intermediate/Advanced group running from 11am – 1pm and the Novice Group running from 7pm – 9pm. People may react with shock and a raised eyebrow if they hear someone say “You can achieve weight loss with hypnosis in your sleep!” They may even think that the person saying this must be crazy. Think again, because there is a scientific basis for this seemingly out of this world idea.

People who lack the time to do their exercises during daytime will benefit from this new finding. The key principle used here is to promote weight loss with hypnosis. The objective is to alter the state of mind through the use of dreams to promote exercise activities.

The phenomenon works through hypnotherapy where a hypnotherapist conducts hypnosis to promote lucid dream. Lucid dream is an experience when an individual can manipulate what to dream about. In this case, it is to do exercise activities while asleep. The principle, by which this process works, is the fact that the brain releases certain neurotransmitters when doing an actual exercise. These neurotransmitters increase the body and muscle activity, which help individuals to burn calories and to get rid of the excess pounds.

Hypnosis Techniques

During lucid dream, one dreams of doing exercise. The brain is stimulated to act and to release neurotransmitters in the same way as when doing an actual exercise. Dream recall can be improved by keeping a dream journal where one can log details such as time, person, place and activity of the dream. A hypnotherapist can work with the client to achieve lucid dream and dream recall through brain training and autosuggestion.

To train the brain to dream of exercise while asleep can stimulate the brain to release the necessary neurotransmitters to burn calories and, therefore, to lose the excess pounds.

It must also be understood that there are studies that support weight loss with hypnosis. They make use of the following hypothesis to support this claim: one is the fact that hypnosis can train the brain to induce sleep and dream; two, is that sleep improves body function and keeps them at their maximum level, so if a person has more sleep, the brain and muscles can work together and perform exercises while a person sleeps; and three, hypnosis and sleep promotes overall health and not just prevent illnesses.

Averaged across post treatment and follow-up assessment periods, the mean weight loss was 6.00 lbs. (2.72 kg) without hypnosis and 11.83 lbs. (5.37 kg) with hypnosis. The mean effect size of this difference was 0.66 SD . At the last assessment period, the mean weight loss was 6.03 lbs. (2.74 kg) without hypnosis and 14.88 lbs. (6.75 kg) with hypnosis. The effect size for this difference was 0.98 SD. Correlational analyses indicated that the benefits of hypnosis increased substantially over time ( r = .74 ) .
